The Peugeot 2008 gets a major facelift

The rhinoplasty also leads to an increase in the power of the electric motor

Big update for the Peugeot 2008! After four years on the market, the small French SUV receives the traditional mid-career facelift. The aesthetic changes are visible both on the exterior and on board where the interior gains in modernity. On the technical side, the arrival of the mild-hybrid technology is noteworthy, while the electric version has been beefed up.

From the front, the updated 2008 has a new face with three pairs of claws in the bumper. The headlights, on the other hand, lose their claws and are replaced by three LED dots. The front grille has also been significantly modified, giving it a wider and more vertical appearance. The spikes are now slightly slanted compared to the previous model, while the new brand logo is placed in the center.

Two new colors for the refreshed 2008

Note that the black mirror caps are standard on all versions. Peugeot offers a set of revised wheels ranging from 16 to 18 inches. The 2008 offers six colors in its catalog, two of which are new: Selenium Gray, which comes at no extra charge, and Okenite White. Also, only the GT trim has a black roof. On board, the main change concerns the latest-generation infotainment system taken from the 308. The 10-inch screen is now standard.

The digital instrument interface has also been revised and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are wireless. The automatic transmission control swaps its lever for a more discreet trigger introduced by the Citroën C4. Under the hood, the 2008 retains the 1.2 PureTech with 100 or 130 PS, paired with a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic gearbox on the 130 PS.

A more powerful electric model

The 100 PS 1.5 BlueHDi remains in the mix with a six-speed manual transmission. In 2024, the 2008 will be reinforced by a mild-hybrid version of the 1.2 PureTech developing 136 PS and coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. As for the electric e-2008, its horsepower will increase to 156 PS and its 50 kWh battery will allow a range of 406 km. The facelifted Peugeot 2008 will arrive in dealerships this summer.
