The recently concluded Shanghai Auto Show saw Chinese EV carmaker Zeekr unveil its new flagship SUV to the world – the Zeekr 9X. Zeekr claims the new Zeekr 9X SUV will set a new standard for global luxury SUVs as it bags the title of being the world’s first SUV with 900V hybrid architecture.
The global launch of the new Zeekr 9X SUV coincided with the carmaker’s first appearance at an international auto show since its establishment. Alongside the new 9X SUV unveil, Zeekr also launched the four-seat ultra-luxury Zeekr 009 Grand Collector’s Edition at the 21st Shanghai Auto Show.
The new Zeekr 9X boasts harmonious proportions and some of it trickles down to the design elements as well. Case in point, the massive chrome grille upfront which Zeekr claims is the largest single-piece chrome grille on any global SUV. It gets complimented by a high roofline, oversized wheels, and one of the widest rear doors among new energy SUVs for easier ingress and egress.
The world-first accolades extend to the Zeekr 9X’s powertrain as well. The new Zeekr 9X is the world’s first super-hybrid SUV to feature a 900V electric architecture. This super-hybrid SUV comprises a blend of two electric motors – a 290 kW on the front and a 370kW for the rear, to Zeekr’s proprietary 2.0T super-hybrid engine, which is recognized as the most powerful 2.0T hybrid engine globally. Such a specification helps the Zeekr 9X to achieve the 0-100kph sprint in 3 seconds with a top speed of 240kph.
