The New Porsche Panamera Has A Whiff Of Taycan Indoors
The public debut is scheduled for November 24, 2023.
Over the past few weeks, Porsche has constantly reminded us that the new-gen Panamera will make its world premiere at this year’s ‘Icons of Porsche’ in Dubai. That event is scheduled to run for two days later this month – November 25-26. However, the public debut of Porsche’s new four-door sports saloon is slated for November 24. To keep the excitement high, the German carmaker has released images of the car’s interior. And with them, confirmed a few tasty details.
The ’Porsche Driver Experience’ control concept, first introduced in the Taycan EV, enters the new Panamera. It’s driver-focused, which is how it should be in a Porsche. The 12.6-inch curved digital instrument cluster features a three-zone layout, which can be configured depending on the equipment chosen and the selected theme. It is linked to the optional head-up display, which can also be controlled from the sports steering wheel.
The steering wheel also houses a toggle switch for the instrument cluster and a mode switch for the driving modes. Even the gear selector lever is in the same vicinity. This move helps clear space on the centre console, which now features touch-sensitive and physical controls for climate control and the finless air vents. The cubby hole can also store more knick-knacks. Riding on top of the centre console is a touchscreen infotainment system, accompanied by a third display in front of the front passenger.
What becomes a first for the Panamera model is the cabin-wide use of ambient lighting, which helps give the vehicle’s width a good perspective. Furthermore, Porsche claims that the seats are comfier than before. At the same time, the colour and material options for the interior theme include dual-tone designs. Another first for the Panamera is the option of a leather-free package. Opting for that will rope in materials such as Race-Tex and Pepita fabric.
Not much time until the D-day arrives. The question is – what all body styles will be part of the model range?
