The Mercedes EQS will be available with the Manufaktur treatment

Bespoke personalization because of a lack of a Maybach version

The Mercedes EQS is the electric flagship of the star brand. It will therefore conquer the most demanding customers, as the S-Class has done for over 50 years. However, the electric limousine suffers from a major handicap compared to the S-Class. It does not offer an ultra-luxury Maybach version, a detail that makes the difference in the segment and allows it to compete with the big boys like Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

The star brand will reserve the Maybach variant for the 2023 EQS SUV. To avoid giving the competition a free hand, Mercedes is now offering the option of having the EQS produced by the Manufaktur department. This ultra-exclusive option will allow, among other things, to configure the EQS with specific colours and trims as if it were a Maybach.

Nine new colours will be available. Among the most notable are Magnificent Kalahari Gold and Blue Uni Vintage. On board, there is Nappa leather with checkered upholstery on the seats accompanied by smooth leather on the door panels, the centre armrest and even the lower part of the dashboard. Several combinations will be possible with specific colours such as Tobacco Brown and Mystic Red. The option costs €7,000.

In another package, these little extras can be extended to the steering wheel, the floor mats and the headrests, which can be embroidered with either the Mercedes logo or the AMG logo. The centre console also gets the Manufaktur lettering in handwriting, while the door sills also have this backlit lettering. The price for all these additional details is €11,000. The Manufaktur customisation will be offered on all versions of the EQS.
