Tesla has added a new six-seater variant to its Model Y lineup in the United Arab Emirates with the introduction of the Model Y L Premium. The vehicle has a longer wheelbase and a three-row cabin in addition to several improvements, but still retains the same drive quality as the standard variant. The model’s orders are now live in the country, with the first deliveries commencing in November 2026.
What are the differences between the Tesla Model Y L Premium and the regular Model Y?
The Tesla Model Y L Premium has a 150 mm longer wheelbase than the regular model, with the overall length increased by 179 mm.
Tesla has updated the roof design to provide 70 mm of extra second-row headspace. Rear shoulder space has been increased by 20 mm thanks to new interior packaging, while larger rear doors and extended rear quarter glass will enhance access and visibility in the third row.
What interior equipment does the six-seat SUV have?
The six-seater Model Y L Premium features three rows of seating, optimised for six people. The front seats come with heating, ventilation, headrest adjusters, a thigh support extender, and the option to use the 16-inch central touchscreen with a 2,560 × 1,600-pixel resolution.
Second-row captain’s chairs feature heating, ventilation, powered seat adjusters, powered armrests, one-touch fold, and reclining up to 125 degrees. There is an 8-inch touchscreen for controlling climate systems and entertainment options for the rear passengers.
The third-row seats include the following features: power reclining, one-touch folding, dedicated climate control, charging ports, and the ability to fold flat for extra luggage space.
Other equipment includes acoustic glass, 19-inch Machina 2.0 alloy wheels, and a 19-speaker premium sound system.
How much cargo space is available?
According to Tesla, the Model Y L Premium has cargo space of up to 2,539 litres with the rear seats up. If all six seats are used, the rear cargo space will be sufficient to hold two suitcases and one trolley in the back, and a cabin bag in the front.
In addition, folding the third-row seats increases luggage space, allowing the car to transport up to six large suitcases.
What safety and driver assistance features does the car have?
As mentioned before, the Model Y L Premium has side curtain airbags for the first and second rows and airbags for the third row. Additionally, the car’s body is reinforced with additional beams and a die-cast rear underbody.
Standard driver-assistance systems include Autosteer, Traffic-Aware Cruise Control, and Automatic Emergency Braking. The car also has hardware for the Full Self-Driving (Supervised).
What are the performance specs and driving specs?
The Model Y L Premium comes equipped with adaptive suspension, which uses electronically controlled damping to achieve optimal ride comfort and handling.
The manufacturer claims that it takes 5.0 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph, with an electronically limited top speed of 201 kmph. The car’s driving range on a single charge is 681 km according to the WLTP test cycle.
Tesla customers can use the Supercharger network, which includes over 220 Supercharger stalls scattered throughout the United Arab Emirates.
The Model Y L Premium is currently available for ordering in the United Arab Emirates, with a starting price of approximately $61,250 (AED 224,990). Customer deliveries will begin in November 2026.
