Tag Heuer Carrera x Porsche RS 2.7 watch launched

TAG Heuer’s newest collection turns the classic Porsche 911 Carrera RS2.7 into a watch.

This week, TAG Heuer released a unique limited edition collection called the Carrera X Porsche RS 2.7. With this launch, the watchmaker continues its partnership with Porsche, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7.

TAG Heuer revealed two watches, one in steel and the other in rose gold. These watches take direct design cues from the original Carrera RS 2.7.

On the dial and engraved into the case are the words “Carrera”, but instead of a standard font, we find the recognizable typeface of the Porsche Carrera.

The steel watch case side engraving is filled with blue lacquer, whereas the rose gold is more subtle with no filling. The specific colours of these two watches are drawn from blue and red, the two iconic colourways for the Carrera RS 2.7, which in itself was a limited production car seeing only 1,500 ever produced.

When flipping the watch over, you will find the trusted TAG Heuer Calibre Heuer 02 Automatic movement with 80 hours of power reserve.

The blue steel model comes with a white fabric strap with the same Carrera printing and you also get the option for a steel bracelet. The rose gold model is paired with a red leather strap.

The blue steel model is limited to 500 units priced at $7,750 while the rose gold version is limited to just 250 units priced at $23,550
