Subaru will unveil the new Impreza at the Los Angeles Auto Show from November 18 to 28. The Japanese brand has today released a teaser showing off the car less than two weeks before the event. Unsurprisingly, the vehicle is expected to retain a strong kinship with the outgoing model, but will significantly improve its technological and technical content.
As the teaser shows, the new generation compact car will keep a very consensual silhouette with a relatively long sloping bonnet and a rather inclined windscreen. On the other hand, the roofline will remain horizontal in order to provide optimal headroom for the rear passengers. The whole thing ends with a gently sloping rear window. Given the fact that this is a teaser, the sides of the car are impossible to see at the moment.
There could be more taut lines giving the car more character and personality. The front end is expected to follow many of the same lines as the Crosstrek, namely a hexagonal grille with sharp, chiselled headlights. The same will be true for the rear, which will receive more sculpted taillights. On board, the new Impreza will mark a major leap forward in its presentation.
While the instrument cluster will not be fully digital, it will certainly be accompanied by a very large portrait infotainment screen with new features. Also, the Impreza will benefit from numerous driving aids thanks to the EyeSight system combining radar and cameras. On the technical side, the compact car will continue the tradition of the previous generation.
It will be powered by a 2.0-litre flat-four engine, with hybrid technology depending on the market. The mechanical package will be paired with an automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox. The car will go on sale in the US in 2023 and will arrive in Europe in 2024. As a reminder, the fifth-generation Subaru Impreza was released in 2016 before being facelifted in 2019. Â
I am looking forward to their performance variants!
