Ram 1500 lineup expands with the RHO, Tungsten, and Upgraded Limited

If jumping your truck is your hobby or riding around in luxury, Ram 1500 has all the trims you need

There was a bit of a groan across the enthusiast world when Ram discontinued the TRX for the RHO. Gone is the supercharged V8, and in its place is a turbo inline-six. But what you need to realize is that the TRX was a Raptor R fighter, whereas the RHO is meant to fight the non-R Raptor. It’s cheaper, a bit less powerful, but a whole lot more attainable, and therefore, we are likely to see many more on the roads.

There isn’t a lot to be upset about with an inline-six. Often touted as the best all around engine configuration, Ram seems to be in a good place to offer such an engine across the board. The RHO and High Output (H/O) versions of the 3.0L Hurricane will have 540 horsepower and 706 Nm of torque. These numbers help propel the RHO from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds with a quarter mile coming in at 13.1 seconds. It will have better economy and emissions than the outgoing supercharged V8, something often required by governments.

The Tungsten is where Ram says ‘luxury meets power.’ It will have the same power output as the RHO, but with an ultra-premium experience. Klipsch Reference Premier audio with 23 speakers, dual wireless chargers, and metal pedals are offered with three massive screens and a heads up display. A total of 127 cm of combined digital displays are… on display. Long travel suspension is featured with adaptive damping with high-strength long-travel suspension.

If you’re looking for less ‘off-road’ and more luxury, the Limited is where you’re going to find more leather and American luxury. Power output is the Hurricane H/O, same as the RHO and Tungsten. Massaging front leather seats, Harman Kardon 19-speaker audio, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 22-inch wheels, power running boards, and the RamBox management system are all standard. That’s not to mention all the safety suite technologies it comes with too.

Lastly, there is the Rebel and Laramie which get the standard output from the Hurricane 3.0L with 420 horsepower and 635 Nm of torque. Think of both of these as a watered down RHO and Limited, respectively. A bit more affordable, a bit less off-road and luxury.

Cheers!
