Porsche Panamera Gets Two New Hybrid Variants

Both slot below the Turbo E-Hybrid derivative.

We witnessed the introduction of the all-new Porsche Panamera in November 2023. Back then, the Germans shared details about three derivatives; one was a hybrid – the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid. However, Porsche did confirm that four E-Hybrid variants will be available. The Stuttgart-based carmaker has released details about two more – the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and 4S E-Hybrid.

First, the Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid. All on its own, the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 produces 300hp. However, the total system output, which includes that of the electric motor, is 464hp/650Nm. At maximum attack, the Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid can complete the 0-100kmph sprint in 4.1 seconds and clock 280kmph flat out. On electric power alone, this variant can travel up to 96km.

Those looking for more punch but not as much as the Turbo E-Hybrid can settle for the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid. Here, the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 produces 349hp. However, when it works with the electric motor, the total output rises to 536hp/750Nm. The extra oomph helps post a 0-100kmph sprint time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 290kmph.

In both the E-Hybrid variants detailed above, the electric motor produces 188hp/450Nm. That means it is more potent than before. The whole setup is backed by an approximately 45 per cent larger battery. At 25.9kWh, it can be replenished with an 11kW AC charger in 2 hours and 39 minutes. The energy recuperation system has also been beefed up, which pays dividends in the electric range.

The Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid features 19-inch alloy wheels, black brake callipers and matrix LED headlights as standard. The HD matrix LED lighting system is part of the options list. On the other hand, the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid packs 20-inch alloy wheels, silver Sport tailpipes and red brake callipers. The latter can be optionally finished in Acid Green or Black.

Both the newly announced E-Hybrid models can now be ordered as sports saloons. In Germany, the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera 4S E-Hybrid start at EUR 123,400 and EUR 138,200, respectively. Their deliveries are to commence in Q2 of 2024.
