What is the Oris Hölstein Edition 2026?
The Hölstein Edition 2026 celebrates 122 years of Oris’s founding and pays tribute to Hölstein, a Swiss village and home to the brand since 1904. It is based on the new redesigned Artelier collection launched during Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026.

“You can travel the world, but no matter where you go, there’s no place like home. For us at Oris, home is Hölstein, a beautiful Swiss village set into the forested mountain foothills that form the Waldenburg Valley, some 35 km from the industrial city of Basel. Through the decades, this charming village, its wonderful people, and their indomitable spirit have sustained Oris and made it the company it is today. Hölstein has provided a constant backdrop to countless watch designs and more than 280 innovative mechanical calibres, including our Calibre 100 and Calibre 400 Series. It’s now a symbol of our independence and the joyful, mechanical watches we continue to create. Every year, we mark our founding date with a very special watch. The Hölstein Editions come along just once, and we only make 250 of each. They’re a “thank you” to the Oris community and an expression of our love for Hölstein, our home.”

What are its dial features?

Minimalist light grey dial. Straight-sided hour and minute hands, coated with Super-LumiNova, and applied hour-markers are inspired by the brand’s designs from the 1960s that “reinforce the clean, contemporary aesthetic, while the overall form maintains the taut, urban profile characteristic of the new Artelier collection.” The small seconds subdial features a mirror finish with a bright red hand.

What are its case and strap features?

Multi-piece case is made from stainless steel and measures 39.50 mm (diameter) * 11.10 mm (thickness). Lug-to-lug distance: 45.50 mm. Lug width: 20 mm. Dial side features a sapphire crystal that is domed on both sides with anti-reflective coating on the inside. The screwed stainless steel caseback features a “special insert with rainbow-effect laser-treated details, including the Oris bear.”
Water resistant up to 3 bar or approximately 30 metres. The watch comes with a grey suede leather strap fitted with a butterfly clasp.

Is it powered by an automatic movement?

Yes. It is powered by Oris Calibre 401, an automatic movement that drives the central hours and minutes and small seconds with a stop seconds function. It has a diameter of 30 mm or 13 ¼ lignes, comprises 24 jewels, beats at a modern rate of 4 Hz or 28,800 vph and has a power reserve of 120 hours or 5 days.
“Calibre 401, designed for intermittent wear, has a five-day power reserve. It uses twin barrels with extended mainsprings, each storing two-and-a-half days of power. It’s highly accurate, to -3/+5 seconds a day, surpassing a chronometer.”

What do we think?

I love the aesthetics of the Hölstein Edition 2026. It exhibits the design codes of the new Artelier collection, “a taut, modern case, a simple uncluttered dial, and a utilitarian new bracelet design” that is “suited to modern lifestyles while remaining rooted in classic watchmaking codes,” yet features an innovative caseback insert with the engraved Oris Bear.
It gives the watch a dual personality; a minimalist dial on the front and a fun caseback, the latter though private to its owner will surely be a conversation starter at watch GTGs. For a brand that excels in producing appealing watches that feature quality craftsmanship, sustainability and accessible prices, the Hölstein Edition 2026 is praiseworthy.
