New Jeep Avenger Gets Refresh with Hybrid, Electric, and 4xe Models

The New Jeep Avenger receives refreshed styling and offers hybrid, electric, and 4xe variants.

The new Jeep Avenger is an updated version of Jeep’s B-SUV crossover, developed and produced in Europe. The new model benefits from its predecessor’s strong sales record and features a revised look, advanced technology, and additional powertrains. The model aims to serve city and off-road driving conditions while retaining a small size and utility-oriented features.

How has the Jeep Avenger been redesigned?

There have been changes to the car’s exterior design, including modified front and rear bumpers, revamped alloy wheels, and new colours like Forest and Bamboo. In addition, the iconic seven-slot grille now incorporates LED illumination to enhance its night-time visibility.

Protection features are incorporated into the design through body cladding, skid plates, and sealed headlights to prevent scratches during urban driving. The interior has received some attention too, with improved padding on the doors and dashboard, new seat coverings, and terrain management settings.

What technological and safety upgrades can we expect?

There is an advanced set of LED matrix headlamps that adjust brightness based on the road, traffic, and vehicle speed. It is aimed at increasing visibility and decreasing driver fatigue in the dark.

There is also a new camera-based parking assistance system with a 360-degree top-down view from multiple cameras. The infotainment system features a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and wireless over-the-air updates.

Standard equipment includes cruise control, automatic climate control, a keyless entry/start system, and full LED lighting. Jeep’s smartphone application enables remote locking/unlocking of doors, charging level, and climate control.

What kind of engines and powertrains does the Jeep Avenger offer?

There are currently four distinct powertrain options in the Jeep Avenger model line-up:

Petrol Turbo 100: 101 hp (75 kW), 205 Nm torque, manual 6-speed transmission

e-Hybrid 110: 110 hp (82 kW), Automatic Dual Clutch Transmission with Mild Hybrid support

4xe AWD Hybrid: 145 hp (108 kW) plus Electric Rear Axle Assist with peak torque up to 1,900 Nm in specific situations

Electric (BEV): 156 hp (116 kW), 54 kWh battery, up to ~400 km range (WLTP) with maximum DC fast charging speed of 100 kW

The petrol engine is based on a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo with variable-geometry turbocharger technology. This engine delivers 205 Nm of torque starting from 1,750 rpm.

Is it capable of handling rough terrain and city driving?

Although the Jeep Avenger may seem small on the outside, it is fully capable off-road, which aligns with the Jeep brand’s characteristics. Ground clearance is up to 210 mm, while Approach, Breakover, and Departure angles are 22°, 21°, and 35°, respectively.

What trim levels are offered?

Multiple trim levels exist depending on drivetrain types:

FWD: Longitude, Altitude, Summit

AWD: Upland, Overland

Additional optional equipment may include a panoramic sunroof, a hands-free power tailgate, a heat pump (available on EV variants), and individual customisation kits.

The 85th Anniversary Edition is a limited-run model available with exclusive exterior details, gold elements, a tartan cabin finish, and a unique badge.

Pricing and availability

Pre-orders for the upgraded Jeep Avenger have begun, and production and delivery will follow the same timelines as the European launch. Although pricing hasn’t yet been fully standardised, it is worth noting that the previous model retailed between $26,000 and $30,000 USD (for petrol models), whereas the hybrids and EVs were priced between $ 30,000 and $45,000+ USD, depending on specifications.

Limited-edition Jeep Avenger 85th Anniversary models will be available at a premium over mid- to high-trim models. Prices will be varied according to market availability.
