New-Gen Ford Mustang Launched In The UAE

The only engine option available across the variants list is the 5.0-litre V8.

Al Tayer Motors, Ford’s official importer and distributor in the UAE, has announced the launch of the all-new Mustang in the country. The car is now in its seventh generation. In the UAE, it is available in GT 5.0, GT Premium 5.0, GT Premium 5.0 and Dark Horse derivatives. Ford has also devised bundled add-ons to make the whole recipe more exciting. These include the Performance, Nite Pony, and Dark Horse Appearance packages.

Regardless of the variant, under the bonnet will be Ford’s fourth generation 5.0-litre V8. In the GT and GT Premium variants, the engine outputs 480hp/563Nm. Those figures bump to 486hp/567Nm with the active valve exhaust system in the equation. The Dark Horse derivative is the most powerful of the lot. It packs 500hp/567Nm and, as standard, comes with an active valve exhaust system. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual and a 10-speed automatic gearbox, with both routing the oomph exclusively to the rear wheels.

As standard, the features list of the new-gen Ford Mustang includes six drive modes, 19-inch rims, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, adaptive cruise control and powered front seats. As you move up the trim tree, the look and feel of the two-door car changes. For instance, more leather comes into play, a spoiler finds a place on the boot lid, and the features list improves.

The packages mentioned above rope in extra bits. The Performance package is available for all GT variants but not for the Dark Horse. As the name suggests, it introduces more hardcore stuff, such as heavy-duty front springs, a Torsen differential, tweaked chassis and a MagneRide damping system. The Nite Pony package is exclusively available with the GT Premium fastback derivative. It blacks out some stuff to accentuate the sporty quotient. Similarly, the Dark Horse Appearance package is only for the Dark Horse variant. When chosen, it brings in a unique bonnet graphic, a black-painted roof and additional blue accents.

In the UAE, the new-gen Ford Mustang starts at AED 219,345. That price includes a five-year/100,000km service package and the standard warranty.
