More than 400 mi of range for the Polestar 2

Thanks to a new 82 kWh battery and optimized energy flow management, the Long Range single motor version of the Swedish sedan has a range of up to 406 mi

When we think of an electric sedan, the Tesla Model 3 is inevitably the first option that springs to mind. However, there are many attractive alternatives, such as the Polestar 2, which deserve our full attention. After a minor facelift at the start of the year, the Swedish car has further improved its performance thanks to optimized software management that significantly reduces its electricity consumption.

406 mi range for the Long Range single motor

The figures are particularly attractive. The Polestar 2 reduces its energy consumption by 9%. Not much, you say? When compared with the 82 kWh of the Long Range single motor version, the increase in range is a staggering 22%! The Swedish sedan now offers a maximum range of 406 mi, putting it right at the top of its class. The Long Range dual motor version is not to be outdone, with a range of 367 mi.

Another notable improvement is the 34% reduction in charging times with the 82 kWh battery. DC charging power is now close to 205 kW, another excellent score that is gradually approaching the 250 kW of the Tesla Model 3. Of course, the Standard Range model with its 69 kWh battery is still on board, with an already comfortable range of 331 mi. However, its charging power remains capped at 135 kW.

The Performance Pack is now gone

But isn’t there a model missing? Yes, there is! The 476 PS Long Range version equipped with the Performance Pack has disappeared from the 2024 line-up. From now on, the Swedish manufacturer will have three models in its portfolio.
