Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG Gold Coast is a 100-unit special-edition
It gets special paintwork and a massive plaque on the centre console
To many, the Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG is a desirable sports car. But suddenly, Mercedes-Benz decided to bump up the desirability quotient multifold by launching an exclusive Gold Coast limited edition by Manufaktur, the carmaker’s in-house bespoke department.
Limited to 100 units only, the Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG Gold Coast gets a special Kalahari Gold Magno paintwork, also featured in the interior. Barring the exclusive paintwork, the Gold Coast special edition by Manufaktur also comes fitted with 21-inch forged wheels with a 10 twin-spoke design with a matte black finish. The keen-eyed viewers would notice the wheel hubs and rims have accents colour-matched to the interior.
Being a 100-unit-only exclusive, Mercedes-Benz has been kind enough to incorporate a host of AMG packages as standard comprising the AMG Night Package Exterior, AMG Night Package Exterior II, and AMG Aerodynamic Package. All the chrome elements on the Gold Coast edition have been lent the blacked-out treatment including black chrome on the prominent Three-pointed Star, grille panel trim, and even the ‘SL 63’ and ‘AMG’ badges.
The interior also boasts a host of special touches. The most prominent one being a “Manufaktur Golden Coast” edition badge on the centre console to distinguish itself as the most desirable SL 63 one can have. Adding to that exclusiveness is black Nappa leather finish on the steering wheel and the AMG Performance seats with contrast golden stitching on both elements as well as the AMG-branded floor mats. The Kalahari Gold Magno paint scheme from the exterior is mimicked on the dashboard, centre console and door inlays.
Mechanically, the Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG Gold Coast limited-edition remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by the 577 hp turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine that can do the 0-100kph sprint in less than 4 seconds.
