Mercedes-Benz EQS Gets Major Update for 2024 Model Year
Mercedes-Benz offers the MANUFAKTUR Selection – a special edition EQS with unique features like obsidian metallic paint, high-end wheels, and an exquisite interior crafted with deep white Nappa leather and rose gold accents.
Mercedes-Benz is rolling out a significant update package for the EQS electric sedan. The highlight is a range boost of up to 82 kilometres (51 miles) thanks to a larger 118 kWh battery. This translates to a maximum range of 799 kilometres (497 miles) for the EQS 450 4MATIC, surpassing many competitors. Additionally, both the EQS and EQE sedans with 4MATIC benefit from a towing capacity increase to 1,700 kilograms (3,748 pounds), allowing them to tow trailers like horse trailers.
Enhanced Comfort and Convenience
The update focuses on improved comfort, particularly for rear passengers. The optional Rear Comfort Package Plus now features a special slanted footrest on the right side, offering a more relaxed seating position. Additionally, the backrest angle can be adjusted further for more legroom. Standard rear seat features also see improvements, with adjustable backrest angles and a softer seating experience.
Technological Advancements
The 2024 EQS comes equipped with the latest driving assistance technology. The “Automatic Lane Change” function helps with overtaking on highways with two lanes, automatically manoeuvring the car within a speed range of 80-140 km/h (50-87 mph) upon detecting sufficient space and clear lane markings. However, the responsibility for safe driving remains with the driver.
Stylish Design Tweaks and Exclusive Edition
The new EQS boasts a revised front fascia with a chrome-accented radiator grille and a standing Mercedes star on the hood, blending the car’s futuristic design with classic Mercedes-Benz elements. The interior gets a touch of luxury with chrome ventilation nozzles and Nappa leather piping on the rear seat cushions.
