MB&F launches Tales from the Tribe

It is a series of podcasts, hosted by Max Büsser and featuring an MB&F collector every month. The first two episodes are now live.

MB&F has just launched – Tales from the Tribe – a series of podcasts hosted by Maximillian (Max) Büsser. In each episode, Max interviews a member of the “Tribe”, a moniker for MB&F’s worldwide collector community.

“To Maximillian Büsser, founder of MB&F, watchmaking is art, but most of all, it’s a mindset, a journey. The history of watchmaking is filled with adventurers – dreamers, engineers, artists who will each in their own way contribute to a better world. The watchmaking journey is first and foremost about very special individuals. Some are rebels are mavericks and most have a little touch of madness…”

“Over the years, MB&F has united around the brand a collectors’ circle called “The Tribe”, who are each in their own way adventurers. In this podcast, you’ll discover their amazing lives, what drives their creativity and what feeds their passion for watchmaking. Welcome to Tales from the Tribe, the MB&F’s Podcast.”

Episode 1 titled “Learn how to smell the roses” features Wen Hsieh

Wen is the founder of Matter Venture Partners, a hardtech venture capital firm. Prior to this, he was a managing partner at Kleiner Perkins, among the most prominent venture capital firms in the world. In addition to having a front row seat in the technology world, Wen “still cultivates a touch of madness in everything he does.”  An expert in the world of innovation in tech startups, he is a hugely successful entrepreneurial venture capital investor.

In this episode, Wen talks to Max about his childhood in an Amazon jungle, Google’s extraordinary first fundraise, and other super interesting aspects of his life.

Episode 2 titled “The power of regrets” features Todd Searle

Todd describes himself as a dreamer. Obsessed with artisanal or independent watchmaking, he decided to fully live this passion. He became “one of the main directors of watchmaking documentaries in the world.”  A defender of the essence of entrepreneurship, he authored “32 Regrets: A Guide to Reclaiming Creativity”, where he profiles entrepreneurs who pursued their passions, converting them into successful “self sustaining ventures”. Max Büsser’s story is covered in this book.

In this episode, Todd talks to Max about the importance of failure as a path to success, his love for artisanal timepieces, and other topics which include Swiss watchmaking and importance of creativity in his life.
