About Maui Jim

Maui Jim began in 1987 as a small company selling sunglasses on Ka’anapali Beach in Lahaina, Maui. To meet the need for eye protection from intense glare and harmful UV while enhancing the island’s vibrant colours, it developed the innovative PolarizedPlus2® lens. Starting with a Classic Collection of seven styles, the brand has grown to offer over 125 polarized sunglasses and 125 eyeglass styles, all providing 100% UVA and UVB protection. The original Lahaina office still handles design and testing. In 2022, Maui Jim became part of Kering Eyewear, under the global luxury group Kering, which manages brands like LINDBERG, Gucci, Cartier, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Chloé, Alexander McQueen, Montblanc, Brioni, Dunhill, Boucheron, Pomellato, Alaïa, MCQ, and Puma. Currently it is the third-largest producer of sunglasses in the world.
