What is the Mahindra Thar OG?

Mahindra has introduced an updated version of its infamous three-door Thar SUV. Mahindra calls the new update a “complete reimagination” rather than a mid-cycle facelift. The SUV retains its classic boxy silhouette and off‑road character but receives a new platform, revised suspension, more powerful engines, new features and a new top‑spec ZXT variant.

What platform does the Thar OG use?

The Thar OG is built on Mahindra’s M_Glyde 4G platform, derived from the larger Thar Roxx. The M_Glyde 4G platform is a short‑wheelbase, body‑on‑frame architecture designed for high stiffness for off‑road durability.

What suspension changes has the Thar OG received?

The new Thar OG receives a new rear PENTALINK suspension with Watts Link, DAVINCI Damping with Frequency Dependent Damping (FDD), and Electric Power Steering. These new updates are intended to make the Thar OG perform admirably on highways while offering excellent off-road capabilities.

What engines are offered in the Thar OG?

The Thar OG is offered with three engine options, two of which now produce more power and torque.
