The flag carriers of Poland and Italy have announced an expansion in their cooperation. LOT Polish Airlines and ITA Airways, which shared an interline agreement until now, have upgraded their ties to a codeshare partnership. As a result, passengers will have the flexibility to travel to their final destination with a single ticket, and while doing so, enjoy the uniform luggage policy and fare conditions.
LOT Polish Airlines, which operates flights to Milan, Venice and Rome, will now provide its passengers access to ten new codeshare destinations across Italy. These are Bari, Bologna, Brindisi, Florence, Genoa, Catania, Lamezia Terme, Naples, Palermo and Turin. Another plus for LOT Polish Airlines passengers is guaranteed transfers and the eligibility to collect Miles & More travel miles. Reciprocally, passengers of ITA Airways will now have access to the Polish carrier’s network when travelling from Rome to Warsaw.
ITA Airways, part of the Lufthansa Group, plans to join the Star Alliance next year. Once they do so, LOT and ITA can deepen their ties further and extend more benefits to passengers offered by the global airline alliance.
