Jason Momoa’s One-Off Bentley Blower Jnr Is A Tiny Electric Bentley With A Big Story

This is a hand-built electric Bentley inspired by a 1930 Le Mans racer, finished in custom crimson paint, covered in brass, and carrying family tributes throughout.

Jason Momoa Has Commissioned A One-Of-One Bentley Blower Jnr

Actor, filmmaker, motorcycle enthusiast, and serial collector of interesting machinery, Jason Momoa has added something rather unusual to his garage. Instead of another supercar, hypercar, or custom motorcycle, he commissioned a bespoke Bentley Blower Jnr from Hedley Studios.

Featured in the latest season of HBO Max’s new show named ‘On The Roam,’ the one-off creation is based on the Bentley Blower Jnr, an 85% scale recreation of the legendary 1929 Bentley 4½ Litre Supercharged racecar.

What makes this commission special isn’t the platform itself. It’s the fact that Momoa worked with Hedley Studios to create a deeply personal machine featuring more than 100 bespoke details inspired by his family and his story.

What Is The Bentley Blower Jnr?

Before diving into Momoa’s custom build, it’s worth understanding what the Bentley Blower Jnr is and why it exists in the first place. Built by Hedley Studios in partnership with Bentley Motors, the Blower Jnr is a fully street-legal electric recreation of Bentley’s famous 1929 supercharged race car that competed at the 1930 24 Hours of Le Mans.

It is an 85% scale recreation of the original Bentley Blower, and unlike a static collector’s model, the Blower Jnr is a functioning vehicle designed for urban driving.

Key specifications:

  • Length: 3.7 metres
  • Width: 1.5 metres
  • Hand-built steel chassis
  • Traditional leaf-spring suspension
  • 48V electric powertrain
  • 15kW (20.1hp) electric motor
  • Top speed: 72km/h
  • Driving range: approximately 96 to 105 km per charge
  • Fully road-legal quadricycle classification

In a world filled with oversized SUVs and increasingly complex performance cars, the Blower Jnr is refreshingly simple. It delivers the visual drama of a pre-war Bentley while running on silent electric power.

A Bentley Inspired By Family And Heritage

Momoa’s commission starts with a unique paint finish called “Momoa Crimson”, a rich dark red developed specifically for the project. The bodywork is complemented by aged brass detailing across the car, including the fenders and wheel arches. Unlike polished metal, the brass has been treated to develop a natural patina over time, allowing the car to age and evolve with use.

The personal touches continue inside. The dashboard is crafted from Koa wood, a material native to Hawaii and closely associated with traditional Hawaiian craftsmanship, surfboards, and musical instruments. For Momoa, who was born in Hawaii, it’s a direct connection to his roots.

Several other details reference family history. Both the radiator and number plate feature the number “666”, honouring his grandfather, who carried the nickname “El Diablo”. A bespoke “Momoa 1 of 1” plaque confirms the car’s unique status.

The 100-Hour Brass Skull Shifter

The standout detail might be the drive mode selector. Rather than using a conventional switch or lever, Momoa commissioned a hand-carved brass skull drive selector. Machined and sculpted from a solid block of brass, the piece reportedly required more than 100 hours of craftsmanship to complete.

It’s the sort of detail that would feel excessive on most vehicles. On a tiny electric Bentley commissioned by a Hollywood actor known for custom motorcycles, it somehow feels perfectly appropriate. The steering wheel also features the On The Roam logo, a symbol shared by Momoa and his creative team, further connecting the car to the documentary series in which the build appears.

More Than A Celebrity Garage Ornament

While celebrity car collections often focus on extraordinary numbers, this project feels different. The Blower Jnr itself is already an unusual machine. It’s not particularly fast, doesn’t produce headline-grabbing power figures, and certainly won’t challenge modern sports cars. Instead, its appeal lies in art, storytelling, and incredibly detailed period-correct aesthetics.

Every Bentley Blower Jnr is hand-built at Hedley Studios’ facility in Bicester, England, where specialists in coachbuilding, metalwork, paint, trim, and engineering collaborate to create highly personalised vehicles. Momoa’s example simply takes that philosophy further than most.

Why Are These Miniature Classics Becoming So Popular?

The Bentley Blower Jnr is part of a growing portfolio from Hedley Studios, formerly known as The Little Car Company. The firm has built a reputation for creating scaled electric versions of some of the world’s most famous automobiles. The lineup includes the Bugatti Baby II, Ferrari Testa Rossa J, and Aston Martin DB5 J.

What started as collector toys has evolved into something more sophisticated. These machines combine heritage design, modern electric powertrains, and genuine road legality, creating a niche segment that sits somewhere between automotive art, engineering showcase, and usable transportation.

Momoa’s one-off Bentley Blower Jnr may be the latest example, but it perfectly demonstrates why these cars continue to attract collectors. They’re not chasing lap times or horsepower records. They’re celebrating the emotional side of motoring, where history and personality matter just as much as performance figures.
