IWC Schaffhausen has introduced IWC. CURATED., a new historical watch programme.
“With our IWC. Curated. offer, we want to give watch lovers the unique opportunity to own a watch that has shaped our legacy. No matter where their journey has already taken them, we meticulously prepare these watches to make sure they are ready to begin their next chapter.” – Dr. David Seyffer, historian, and curator of the IWC Museum in Schaffhausen.
Programme Features
Each watch is hand-picked by experts from the IWC Museum and represent important periods of the brand’s watchmaking history.

The watches are carefully inspected, restored, and serviced by the brand’s vintage watchmakers.
Image: “The goal is to restore the watches as close as possible to original condition using authentic and, if possible, period-correct components. Vintage watchmakers enjoy privileged access to IWC’s extensive corporate archives, which contain a wide selection of spare parts for every watch and movement ever produced in Schaffhausen.”
The watches are certified and come with the IWC International Limited Warranty, extendable to eight years upon registration.

Our Thoughts
Founded in 1868 (157 years ago) in Switzerland, IWC Schaffhausen is presently among the “hottest” watch brands in the world. They have a lot going for them.
In an industry dominated by lengthy waitlists and “bundling practises,” the brand makes watches that are desirable, relatively affordable (non-precious metal versions and depending on model), and available. A watch from them – especially those from their Pilot’s Watch, Portugieser, and Ingenieur collections – is a welcome addition in almost any collection.

Image: Another vintage Ingenieur reference. IWC. Curated. is similar to Vacheron Constantin’s Les Collectionneurs programme.
The brand’s Eternal Calendar – a Watches and Wonders 2024 launch – won the prestigious “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) awards ceremony last year. The four astronauts of the Polaris Dawn – a private space mission last year – each wore an IWC watch in space. More recently, the brand sponsored APXGP – a fictional 11th Formula One team featured in the recent F1 The Movie starring Brad Pitt.
IWC. CURATED. is a new chapter for the brand and adds to its allure. For collectors who love vintage IWC watches, this new programme is a compelling proposition.
