Is This Novitec’s Last Ferrari 812 Project?

And is it the neatest job of them all?

Novitec’s obsession with Ferraris is hard to overlook. Since the days of the Ferrari 360, the German tuner has pretty much played around with all the models with the famous Italian prancing horse logo. Fast forward to a modern-day model – the 812 Superfast. Yes, that has been the recipient of Novitec’s modifications, and so has the GTS derivative. Joining that list is what you see here – the Novitec Ferrari 812 Competizione.

For this project, the tuner kept from tweaking the naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12. But that doesn’t mean the finished product has the same power output. That comes courtesy of a thoroughly upgraded exhaust system that helps the 12-cylinder engine exhale better. The description includes phrases such as “optimised exhaust flow” and “special thermal insulation”. Also, customers can choose among three variants of the custom exhaust system, with or without active sound management.

If stainless steel is a bit outdated, customers can opt for INCONEL. That comes from the world of Formula One and weighs even less. The top-tier derivative of the exhaust system is made from INCONEL with 999 gold plating. The latter delivers a gleaming look and works better for heat dissipation. At the back are two matt black tailpipes, each spanning 120mm in diameter, which blend well with the diffuser. Novitec also offers 999 gold plating for custom 100-cell catalysts in the exhaust outlet. The result of all that work is an additional 36hp, bumping the total to 866hp. Also, Novitec’s exhaust system is lighter than the stock, which will pay dividends during dynamic driving.

Accompanying the Vossen-developed Novitec NF 10 ZV rims, which measure 21 and 22 inches in diameter at the front and back, respectively, are customer Sports springs. They help drop the ride height by about 25mm. However, the Novitec Front Lift System can help the front-engined Berlinetta get over uneven surfaces. The nose can be raised by up to 40mm, which drops to its original level once the car reaches 80kmph.

Novitec confirms that more than 70 colours and multiple finishes are available for the wheels. The interior features a blend of leather, Alcantara and carbon, and those, too, can be had in just about any shade.
