Hyundai Venue N Line Launched In India

The sporty treatment is available in two primary trim levels – N6 and N8.

The subcompact SUV space is the most hotly contested segment in India. And to draw the attention of the vast customer base, carmakers have to play more than just price wars. We’ve seen such examples, with some SUVs upping “opulence” and others dialling in expensive matte paintwork. Hyundai wants to join the party too, but with a different recipe. One that focuses more on sportiness than anything else. Enter the Venue N Line. The SUV becomes the second model from the South Korean brand to gain N Line derivatives. The first was, of course, the i20. Here are the prices:

• Venue N Line N6 – INR 12.16 Lakh

• Venue N Line N6 Dual Tone – INR 12.31 Lakh

• Venue N Line N8 – INR 13.15 Lakh

• Venue N Line N8 Dual Tone – INR 13.30 Lakh

In terms of looks, the Venue N Line boasts tweaked front and rear bumpers with different skid plates, a dark chrome grille, red accents on the bumpers, roof rails, wheel arches and doors, red brake callipers, multiple N Line emblems, new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, black ORVM caps and twin exhaust outlets. Even the headlamp and taillamp internals have been blacked-out. Indoors, it boasts an all-black theme with red highlights, a dashcam with two cameras, red ambient lighting, and leather seats with N Line branding.

That’s not all, as Hyundai has worked on other aspects to justify the price tags. The list includes all four disc brakes (standard Venue gets drums at the rear) and tweaked suspension and steering to deliver a more engaging driving experience. As far as the rest of the package is concerned, the N6 variants offer almost the same package as the S (O) derivatives, and the N8 are at par with SX (O).

Coming to the powertrain, there’s just one option for the Venue N Line. It comprises the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine coupled with the 7-speed DCT. With 118bhp/172Nm, the SUV has enough grunt to pump the pulse rate to triple figures. What’s surprising is the omission of the 6-speed iMT option, which is available with the i20 N Line. Colours? There are two monotone and three dual-tone options. The former bucket has white and grey, whereas the latter one comprises a black roof with white, grey and blue shades for the body.

The Venue N Line derivatives will force younger buyers to consider Hyundai’s efforts. Other options in the same range include the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
