Hongqi HS3 Launched In The UAE

The SUV has two turbocharged engine options – a 1.5-litre and a 2.0-litre.

China’s Hongqi has expanded its product portfolio in the UAE with the launch of the HS3. It’s a mid-size SUV measuring just over 4.65 metres in length and stretches 1.9 metres in width. Height-wise, it stands just shy of 1.67 metres while the wheelbase is 2.77 metres. More on the specifications later. First, the prices. They start at AED 99,900, including VAT. The model is available in two derivatives – Luxury and Flagship.

In Luxury form, the Hongqi HS3 comes with a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. With 166hp/258Nm on tap, the SUV can complete the 0-100kmph sprint in 9.9 seconds. Those needing more punch from the propulsion system will settle for the Flagship variant. Here, the Hongqi HS3 packs a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The larger mill outputs 248hp/380Nm, enough for a standard sprint time of 6.9 seconds.

As standard, the Hongqi HS3 comes with features such as automatic headlamps, powered and ventilated front seats with heating functions, automatic emergency braking, forward and rear collision warning systems, dual-zone automatic climate control, an Around View Monitor, rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic glass roof, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. In the Flagship derivative, the SUV ropes in some extra stuff, like an auto-dimming IRVM, an active grille, front parking sensors, Hill Descent Control, leather seats, five drive modes, an automatic parking system, a 40-watt wireless mobile charger and an automatic headlamp levelling system.

The Hongqi HS3 isn’t just loaded with creature comforts and assistance systems but also comes with a 7-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty. Buyers will also benefit from seven periodic maintenance services and complimentary membership for roadside assistance for seven years.

The newcomer was on a five-day display at Yas Mall in the country’s capital. Those interested can book their HS3 from Hongqi ALTAWKILAT in Abu Dhabi. Alternatively, it can be ordered from ‘German Tech Motors’, the brand’s authorised reseller, in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.
