Hennessey to reveal 300mph+ Venom Roadster on August 19

Prepare thine puny brains to be blown away by Hennessey’s latest creation

Hennessey is the kind of firm where no amount of power is enough power. Same goes for top speed figures. John Hennessey and his crazy American team have always been pushing to mix up with the big boys like Bugatti and break the records set by their cars.

With its Venom F5, Hennessey wants to breach the 300mph mark but there’s no news right now as to whether it has been or is prepared to do so. However, the Texan-based tuner has announced that it will be slicing its top and giving us a car for people who fancy wind in their hair and 1,817 horsepower under their right foot – the Venom F5 roadster.

Like it’s hard top brother, the Venom F5 Roadster will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V8 (nicknamed ‘Fury’) and will thump out 1,817 horsepower to the rear wheels. Can you imagine the sheer grunt and torture those rear tires will have to go through? Oof.

The Venom F5 coupe and roadster’s powertrain is a spinoff of GM’s LS pushrod V8 and enables the hypercars to do 0-62mph in 2.6secs, 0-124mph in 4.7secs and,, wait for it, 0-250mph in just 15.5secs. With all this performance, Hennessey promises that the Venom F5 Roadster will be able to give you “wind-in-your-hair-thrills”, though your hair could be removed after such thrills.

Whether the Venom F5 brothers can reach their goal of breaking the 300mph barrier remains to be seen but Hennessey confidently states, “The Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster is a bespoke mid-engine hypercar engineered to exceed 300mph while delivering unparalleled performance and the world’s most exhilarating open-air driving experience.”

The Venom F5 Roadster will be revealed on August 19 at The Quail during Monterey Car Week.
