Fabled American motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson has unveiled the new Sprint 440 at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy, introducing an entry-level lightweight cruiser developed in partnership with Indian manufacturer Hero MotoCorp.
The cruiser combines Harley-Davidson’s traditional cruiser aesthetic with a 440cc single-cylinder engine already used in the X440, while receiving substantial changes to its proportions, ergonomics and chassis setup.

What engine powers the Harley-Davidson Sprint 440?
The Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 is powered by a 440cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine, with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) operating two valves, with electronic fuel injection and a gear-driven counterbalancer designed to reduce engine vibrations.
The 440cc engine produces 27 hp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm of torque at 4,000rpm, transmitted to the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox featuring overdrive ratios in fifth and sixth gears. The transmission is paired with an assist-and-slip clutch.
How does the Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 differ from the X440?
The Sprint 440 shares its engine and base mechanical platform with the X440 roadster; however, Harley-Davidson made considerable visual changes to transform the motorcycle’s visual and riding character to match traditional cruiser characteristics. One of the distinguishable changes is that the cruiser rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination, compared with the X440’s 18-inch front and 17-inch rear setup.

The Sprint 440 exhibits a traditional cruiser silhouette, featuring a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, suspended headlamp, bobbed rear fender and fastback saddle. Harley-Davidson has also incorporated machined highlights on the engine and cast aluminium wheels, along with a tapered exhaust muffler.
Harley offers the Sprint 440 in three colour options: Dark Billiard Grey, Vivid Black and Teal Thunder. All three versions feature orange tank graphics with a warped chequered pattern and Harley-Davidson lettering.
What suspension and braking hardware does the Sprint 440 get?
The Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 uses 43mm dual-cartridge inverted front forks offering 130mm of suspension travel. The rear suspension comprises twin piggyback coil-over shock absorbers with seven-step mechanical preload adjustment.
Braking duties are handled by a 320mm front disc with a two-piston calliper and a 240mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper. The system is supported by an Anti-lock Braking System.

What features and technology does the Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 offer?
The Sprint 440 gets a 3.5-inch round colour TFT instrument display positioned above the handlebar, providing information such as vehicle speed, engine RPM, odometer and tripmeter. Other equipment includes full LED lighting and a USB-C charging port positioned above the headlamp.
What accessories are available for the Harley-Davidson Sprint 440?
Harley-Davidson offers a range of genuine accessories for the Sprint 440, which includes throw-over textile saddlebags with a combined capacity of 7 litres, a sissy bar with a backrest pad and a detachable clear windshield.

When will the Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 go on sale, and what is its price?
The Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 makes its public debut at EICMA 2026, held in Milan, Italy, from November 5 to 8. The company has confirmed that the motorcycle will reach participating dealerships globally, although availability and launch schedules will vary depending on the market.
