LEGO And Mercedes-Benz Create A Unique G-Wagon

It is stationed at the Dubai Design District until December 7, 2024.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon is perhaps one of the most loved vehicles in the UAE—and rightfully so! It’s been around for ages, and the core rawness in its recipe is still the most dominating aspect of its modern-day avatar.

This Eid Al Etihad, previously called the UAE National Day, the G-Wagon’s maker and LEGO Middle East have come together to create something unique. You guessed it! It’s a LEGO G-Wagon and not a tiny one. In fact, it’s a life-size version of the G 500 4×42. Can you guess how many LEGO bricks are in this one? A little less than half a million. To be precise, 445,971 pieces. A team of ‘Master Builders’ took around 2,285 hours to complete this project.

Those who fancy getting up close can do so at the Dubai Design District (outside Buildings 9 and 10), where this unique creation will remain stationed and available for visitors until December 7, 2024. In the display section, people reacquaint themselves with the history of the G-Wagon, which is on display on one of the walls. Another wall dons a LEGO brick mural of the UAE’s national flag. Visitors will also be invited to create a flag mural.

Of course, this isn’t the first time LEGO has built a life-size version of a vehicle. In 2022, a full-sized LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sián FKP 27 wowed visitors at the Dubai Design District and Mall of the Emirates. LEGO recently registered its name in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest brick-formed Formula 1 car. It was built in collaboration with Yas Mall Abu Dhabi.
