GMC Hummer EV Models Launched In Kuwait And The UAE
You can have it in an SUV or a pickup body style.
After what felt like an eternity, GMC Arabia has launched the Hummer EV models in two markets in the Middle East – Kuwait and the UAE. The MY24 Hummer EV is available in SUV and pickup body styles in both countries. Each one can be had in two forms – 3X and Edition 1.
The GMC Hummer EV SUV comes with three electric motors, jointly delivering up to 830hp/15,591Nm. That’s enough for a 0-100kmph sprint time in 3.5 seconds with the ‘Watts to Freedom’ (launch control) mode engaged. The battery can be recharged with DC feeds of up to 300kW, which, under ideal conditions, can add up to 161km of range in 14 minutes. On a full charge, the EPA-estimated range is 480km.
Like its SUV sibling, the GMC Hummer EV pickup has three electric motors – one in the front and two at the back. With up to 1,000hp/15,591, the sprint to 100kmph from a standstill can be completed in 3 seconds. Where the SUV packs GM’s 20-module Ultium battery, the pickup comes with a 24-module configuration. That means that, on a full charge, it can travel up to 529km (GM-estimated). This battery pack can also take DC feeds of up to 350kW, which, under perfect conditions, can add 161km of range in about 11 minutes.
The GMC Hummer EV models come loaded with features. The list includes GM’s CrabWalk system, Air Ride adaptive suspension with Extract mode, four-wheel steering, energy recuperation system with one-pedal driving capability and StabiliTrak. Indoors, the EV comes with three-zone automatic climate control, automatic heated steering, heated/ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 14-speaker Bose sound system, a wireless phone charger, a 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a multi-year membership for SuperCruise.
GMC has also added several safety and assistance systems to the Hummer EV pickup and SUV, including adaptive cruise control, Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Parking Assist, Reverse Automatic Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Departure Warning and auto headlamps.
