Geely Okavango SUV Launched In The UAE

It is available in two variants – GK and GF.

China’s Geely has introduced an all-new model for the UAE market. Called Okavango, it is a seven-seat SUV named after the natural sanctuary in Botswana. Also, it is the largest passenger vehicle the brand makes. There are two variants available – GK and GF. As far as the starting price is concerned, it is AED 98,100.

The SUV measures over 4.8 metres in length, 1.9 metres in width, and 1.77 metres in height. Regardless of the variant one settles for, under the bonnet will be a 2.0-litre TDI engine mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. With 218hp/325Nm on tap, the Geely Okavango can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 7.9 seconds.

As standard, the Geely Okavango comes with features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, LED-powered headlamps and DRLs, powered ORVMs, a six-speaker sound system, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a 540-degree camera and four airbags. The ranger-topper version ropes in additional stuff, like a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless mobile charger, a 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, seat ventilation, memory function for the driver’s seat, front and rear parking sensors and 10 airbags.

Assistance and safety systems like cruise control, electronic parking brake with auto hold, traction control system, hill start and descent assistance, tyre pressure monitoring system, and Remote Start are part of the standard equipment list.

Buyers of the Geely Okavango have a choice of four exterior colours: Black, Blue, Grey, and White. So, if you had to purchase one of these, which shade would look the most appealing in your parking space?
