Gaze at the beauty of the Alfa Romeo Giulia SWB Zagato

The stunning coupe is the love child of Alfa Romeo and Zagato

Alfa Romeo and Zagato – two of the biggest names in the automotive industry when it comes to building beautiful cars. While one’s a company, the other’s a coach builder; both are from Italy and both have a stories history. And now, the two have come together for a very special one-off: meet the Alfa Romeo Giulia SWB Zagato.

This car is based on Alfa’s Giulia Quadrifoglio with Zagato working its coachbuilding magic on it. This car is a celebration to mark 100 years since the Zagato’s first collaboration with the Italian carmaker. The Giulia SWB is the spiritual successor to the iconic 1989 coupé with the same name which was part of the ‘Sprint Zagato’ (SZ) line of Alfa coupés from the late 1950s.

However, it should be noted that Zagato has quite clearly said that the Alfa Romeo badge on the front is “solely for descriptive and promotional purposes” with all the development process taking place independently by Zagato.

The front of the coupe echoes the original though the three-point LED headlight design comes from the 2023 Alfa GIulia while at the back it features a Kammback rear design. A double bubble roof and a vented hood are also seen. Typical Zagato.

It is powered by the Giulia Quadrifoglio’s twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 which has been pumped to the racey GTAm (Gran Turismo Alleggerita modificata) spec. As a result, this beauty packs 533 horsepower and 600 Newton-meters of torque with the engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

The Giulia SWB was commissioned by an unnamed German Alfa Romeo collector. He owns rare Alfa models including an SZ and an 8C Competizione and several Zagato Aston Martins. The price hasn’t been disclosed.
