G-Power Tunes The M3 To Produce 720hp

The German tuning house calls the finished product as G3M Bi-Turbo.

For nearly 40 years, G-Power Engineering has been taking fast BMWs and making them faster. And the latest to join the list of projects is the G3M Bi-Turbo, based on the G80 BMW M3 Competition. In its stock state, the current-gen M3 Competition outputs 510hp/650Nm, enough to satisfy most keen drivers. But the German tuning house has taken that as the base to develop punchier states of tunes.

The most powerful of them all goes by the codename GP-720, which has a price tag of 30,940 euros. That boosts the power and torque figures of the 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged six-cylinder mill to 720hp and 850Nm, respectively. G-Power claims a top speed of 330kmph with that tune, although the standard sprint time isn’t available. But with a hefty 210hp/200Nm bump, the run from nothing to 100kmph should shatter the stock M3 Competition’s 3.9-second claim.

Besides the upgrade in output, G-Power affixes the G3M Bi-Turbo with a custom exhaust system. That, as per the tuner, reduces exhaust back pressure and has a flap control system to offer a variety of soundtracks. Also, there are sport downpipes with high-flow 200-call metal catalytic converters, a centre and rear muffler, and two 100mm and two 110mm carbon-coated tailpipes.

Those who don’t want to spend that much can settle for one of the lower tunes – the GP-670 (26,180 euros) or the GP-620 (22,610 euros). Where the former offers a maximum output of 670Nm/800Nm, the latter has 620hp/750Nm. Even if one opts for the least expensive of the trio, the max speed of 320kmph is still pretty impressive. And it comes with a G-Power Deeptone stainless-steel sport silencer and a rear muffler. The mid-tier option also gets a reworked exhaust system with a centre and rear muffler.

Besides a punchier powertrain, G-Power also gives the G3M Bi-Turbo a bunch of design tweaks. That’s achieved using the carbon add-on elements and new wheels. In the latter section, the car comes with either Hurricane RR forged rims or Hurricane RS wheels, depending on the colour and the spec chosen. Soon, G-Power will offer Venturi RR or RS carbon bonnets either in full visible carbon fibre or partially painted. And to round things off, there’s a massive rear spoiler. Indoors, the car dons an edition badge, G-Power-branded carpets and an optional carbon LED steering wheel.

So, there you have it. The G3M Bi-Turbo sums up to quite a package. Do you agree?
