Frederique Constant and Ahmed Seddiqi unveil a new worldtimer

The Classic Worldtimer Manufacture 75th Anniversary Limited Edition celebrates the retailer’s milestone birthday.

Frederique Constant and Ahmed Seddiqi have introduced the Classic Worldtimer Manufacture 75th Anniversary Limited Edition. Based on the brand’s Classic Worldtimer Manufacture, the Seddiqi version does away with the standard model’s date function, and is a limited edition of 75 pieces.

“Time has always been our craft and our language. For our 75th anniversary, the Worldtimer is a symbol of connection and partnership, past and future, Geneva and Dubai, and the global community that has shaped who we are. I also selected the dial pattern as it draws inspiration from our culture and craftsmanship, infusing the piece with a sense of place and identity.” –  Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, CEO of Ahmed Seddiqi.

Key Features

Functions and Operations

Central hours, minutes, and seconds. 24-hour day and night disc – aligned with the central hours and minutes. 24 time zone function indicated by the city disc. Crown at 3 o’clock for winding, time setting, and setting the world time function. Read our article on the Classic Worldtimer Manufacture in forest green for more information on how to set the world time function.

Image: “Dubai” has been replaced with “U.A.E.” on the city disc. Notice the Ahmed Seddiqi 75th anniversary logo at 12 o’clock. “The Worldtimer is Frederique Constant’s most recognised and bestselling Manufacture collection, distinguished by its ability to display 24 time zones via a single crown, a rare feat among modern watchmakers. Conceived, developed, produced, assembled, adjusted, and encased entirely within Frederique Constant’s workshops in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, each piece reflects the brand’s commitment to precision and artisanal excellence. Every component is largely handcrafted for connoisseurs who value authenticity and high-quality watchmaking.”

Dial

Burgundy-coloured dial. Hour and minute hands, and circular shaped hour-markers are coated with luminescent material. External zone is circular satin finished.

Movement

Powered by manufacture calibre FC-718, an automatic movement that drives the hours, minutes, seconds, and 24-hour disc. Frequency: 28,800 vph or 4 Hz. Power reserve: 38 hours.

Case

3-part case is made from stainless steel. Diameter: 42 mm. Dial side features a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment. Stainless steel caseback features limited edition engravings and a sapphire crystal. Water resistant up to 50 metres. The watch comes with a grey alligator leather strap fitted with white stitching fitted with a folding buckle made from stainless steel.

Our Thoughts

Frederique Constant has knack for crafting haute horology watches at (relatively) affordable prices, including perpetual calendars and tourbillons. Their worldtimer is exceptional – similar in style to those crafted by Patek Philippe – yet at a fraction of the price. The Classic Worldtimer Manufacture 75th Anniversary Limited Edition is a thoughtful interpretation of the model for Ahmed Seddiqi’s 75th anniversary. As a limited run of 75 individually numbered pieces, it also promises rarity.
