Aston Martin Newport Beach, along with the company’s bespoke division, known as Q by Aston Martin, has announced a line of five individually customised Heritage Edition sports cars. This collection uses paint colours used on Aston Martin models from the 1960s and 1970s and is applied to selected 2027 model year cars using modern paint technology. Bespoke interior colours are also applied to each car as part of this collection.
What is available in the Heritage Edition collection?
The Heritage Edition collection includes five currently produced Aston Martin models with five individual paint colours. These are said to be the only current production vehicles with these colours, according to Aston Martin.
The collection is made up of the following cars:
DB12 Volante in Pale Primrose
DB12 Coupe in Pacific Blue
Vanquish Coupe in Tudor Green
Vantage Coupe in Winchester Blue
Vantage Roadster in Mink Silver
All cars have unique Q by Aston Martin features that include bespoke perforated fluted seats, Heritage Aston Martin logo embroidery on the centre armrest, Heritage Edition sill plaques and, for the DB12 Coupe, DB12 Volante and Vanquish, Dark Walnut Open Pore wood inlays.
Why were these historically significant colours chosen?
The exterior colours are inspired by colours that featured on Aston Martin vehicles in the 1960s and 1970s.
The Pale Primrose exterior colour takes inspiration from a colour that was featured in the 1958 DB4 brochure, and it also relates to a scale model that is famous for inspiring the James Bond DB5 toy car.
Pacific Blue featured initially on the DB4 before being included on the DB5 and DB6 models. Aston Martin mentions that it has replicated the colour based on the original colour chip from an old DB6 colour configuration brochure.
The Tudor Green colour is traditionally associated with Aston Martin cars from the 1970s era, whereas Winchester Blue is one of the many colours inspired by British cities and was widely recognised as the trademark of the V8 Vantage from that era.
The Mink Silver colour comes from a metallic paint job that was seen on over 100 DB6 automobiles in the 1960s.
What are the technical specifications of the Heritage Edition cars?
The Heritage Edition cars feature identical mechanical specifications to their standard versions.
The DB12 Coupe and DB12 Volante are fitted with a hand-assembled 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 671 BHP.
The Vanquish Coupe comes with a new 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 producing 824 BHP and a top speed of 344 kmph.
The Vantage Coupe and Vantage Roadster come with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 656 BHP.
What role does Q by Aston Martin play in the project?
Q by Aston Martin is the company’s bespoke personalisation division that worked with Aston Martin Newport Beach in developing the Heritage Edition series.
In addition to applying historical colour schemes using modern paint, the bespoke division also included special interior trim, embroidery, seating design, and more for each model in the series. The project highlights the scope of bespoke options available through Aston Martin’s bespoke programme.
Availability and release information
The Heritage Edition series was unveiled on 3 August 2026 in Newport Beach, California. All five vehicles in the series are individually commissioned and are available only from Aston Martin Newport Beach. Aston Martin has not provided pricing for any of the Heritage Edition vehicles. This is because all the vehicles in the series are one-of-one vehicles based on the 2027 model year DB12, Vanquish and Vantage range, whose prices will differ according to the bespoke specification of each.
