Ferrari Completes 30 Years In The Middle East This Year
The celebratory mood was evident at the Ferrari Racing Days in Abu Dhabi.
It was in 1994 when Ferrari’s distribution network went live in the Middle East. Do the math, and you’ll quickly conclude that the Maranello-based marque celebrates its 30th anniversary in the region this year. In fact, it’ll be a year-long chain of events, announcements and curated experiences that Ferrari has lined up.
As part of the celebrations, the year’s first event – Ferrari Racing Days Abu Dhabi – ran between February 1 and 4. Hundreds of Ferraristi from across the region witnessed multiple segments in various categories during the four days. For instance, on February 3, 2024, a 201-car parade broke all previous records at the Yas Marina Circuit.
The racing event included the Ferrari Winter Challenge, with three races featuring 488 Challenge Evos. Khaled Al Marzouq won all three rounds of the Trofeo Pirelli Am. The German Maya Hartge bagged two wins, including one overall, in the Coppa Shell. In the Coppa Shell Am, Ruihua Wu and Paolo Scudieri fought closely.
Ferrari also revealed the production of six 296 GTB examples, which will be unveiled during the anniversary finale at Casa Ferrari Abu Dhabi. The specially created specimens are for one exclusively selected customer in each GCC country across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
Apart from that, two special activities were also hosted with F1 Clienti and XX Programme. The non-competitive segments saw owners participate in track sessions. One of the highlights was the single-seater, V8-powered, open-wheeled Ferrari F138 – the Formula One car that competed in the 2013 World Championship.
That’s not all. Round three of the Passione Ferrari Club Challenge Middle East Season Four was also held. Also, the Italian brand launched Ferrari Tours Middle East. The first tour was held in the UAE, and those who were part of it travelled through the landscapes of the Arabian Desert.
