The world’s largest express transportation company, FedEx, has just beefed up operations to and from Bengaluru, India. It has introduced a new direct flight service to the capital of Karnataka state in southern India from Guangzhou, China. It brings FedEx’s weekly flights to and from Bengaluru to 22.
This new connection, with no stopovers in between, helps reduce transit times by one business day, enabling faster access to vital import materials such as lithium-ion batteries and supporting components, which are critical for smooth operations in the automotive and electronic industries. With the new service, FedEx expands Bengaluru’s exporting capacity to various markets across Europe and the USA. Several sectors in those markets, such as healthcare, engineering, automotive, and e-commerce, will benefit from faster access to products and services.
Here’s what Richard W. Smith, COO, International, and CEO, Airline, FedEx, said in an official release:
India is one of the most exciting economic growth stories in the world today, and as such, represents a critical growth market for FedEx. I’m excited about the opportunities here in this dynamic and fast-changing region and am proud to strengthen our commitment to India by connecting local businesses to the world.
