BMW’s latest G99 M5 Touring in standard form is already a dream for enthusiasts — a 727hp, 1,000Nm plug-in hybrid V8 estate combining performance and practicality like never before. But for Swiss tuning house dAHLer Competition Line, even this wasn’t enough. The Belp-based specialists have taken Munich’s flagship wagon and transformed it into a true super-estate with more power and sharper handling.
dAHLer BMW M5 Touring: More Power On Tap
dAHLer’s in-house performance program helped extract more muscle from BMW’s 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged S68 V8. Combined with the electric motor, the total system output now climbs to a staggering 830hp and 1,130Nm. Despite these gains, the upgrade remains fully compliant with Euro 6d WLTP emissions standards and carries EU/CH homologation.
Customers can pair the performance package with an optional carbon air intake and a stainless-steel exhaust system that finishes in black twin tailpipes measuring either 108 or 114 millimetres in diameter. For extra drama, dAHLer also offers a remote-controlled bi-flap system that allows drivers to fine-tune the soundtrack. For those craving even more, a Stage 2 kit is already under development, promising not only additional power but also the removal of the factory Vmax limiter.
Suspension and Chassis Upgrades
To match the power increase, dAHLer has engineered suspension kits to enhance how the wagon handles the extra performance. The entry-level option comes in the form of sport springs, which lower the M5 Touring by 25 millimetres at the front and 15 millimetres at the rear, creating a stance that aligns the wheels perfectly with the arches.
For drivers seeking greater flexibility, the coilover suspension package provides adjustable ride height and damping, with fine-tuning available for compression and rebound in both high-speed and low-speed ranges. This ensures the Touring can be tailored for everyday comfort or sharpened for track-day performance.
Forged Wheels & Aerodynamic Enhancements
The visual transformation is equally striking thanks to dAHLer’s CDC2 forged wheels, which measure 10.5×22 inches at the front and 11.0×22 inches at the rear. These are paired with performance tires sized 285/30R22 and 295/30R22. Designed specifically for modern BMW M models, the wheels feature a bold star-overlapping pattern.
In the exclusive dAHLer Edition, they receive partially polished fronts combined with a darkened clear coat, producing a distinctive motorsport-inspired look. Enhancing the car’s presence further is a three-piece carbon front spoiler lip, available either in clear coat or a painted finish to match individual preferences.
Interior Upgrades
The upgrades continue inside with a series of subtle yet premium touches. Enthusiasts can choose from dAHLer-branded Competition Line floor mats, an Alcantara-wrapped sports steering wheel, and a custom emblem for the centre console. These refinements complement the M5 Touring’s already luxurious cabin while adding an extra dose of individuality.
The G99 BMW M5 Touring already redefines what a performance estate can be, but in the hands of dAHLer Competition Line, it becomes something far more special. With an output of 830hp, adjustable suspension, bespoke forged wheels, and tasteful interior upgrades, this Swiss-tuned wagon enters supercar territory without losing its everyday usability. And with a Stage 2 kit on the horizon, the story of this ultimate family-hauling rocket is only just beginning.
