Citroen Launches The eC3 In India

The EV is available in two primary trim levels – Live and Feel.

Those looking to land an EV in their garage, especially one that can be a good city runabout, now have another option to consider. It’s the Citroen eC3, prices for which have now been revealed. Based on the conventionally-powered C3, the pure-electric derivative starts at INR 11.50 lakh and goes up to INR 12.43 lakh (introductory pricing). And there are two primary trim levels – Live and Feel. Here, check out the complete price list:

Powering the eC3 EV is a single front-mounted electric motor that offers 57hp/143Nm. Citroen says that’s enough for the 1.3-tonne vehicle to hit 60kmph from nothing in 6.8 seconds. The top speed, however, is limited to 107kmph. Backing the propulsion system is a 29.2kWh battery, which is efficient enough for a range of up to 320km. And yes, it supports multiple charging options. For instance, when using a 15amp plug point, the battery will replenish from 10 to 100 per cent in about 10 hours and 30 minutes. On the other hand, the recommended fast charger can charge the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in approximately 57 minutes.

The features list includes a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a four-speaker sound system, manual AC, a 100 per cent flat-folding rear seat, remote keyless entry and a digital instrument cluster. Opting for the Vibe Pack ropes in a bunch of factory-fitted enhancements. That includes painted (White/Orange/Grey) ORVM caps, front fog lamp and rear reflector surrounds, body side moulding and front fog lamps. Similarly, there’s a Chrome Pack. The interior’s trim pieces come with orange and grey colour options.

Citroen is offering a choice of thirteen exterior colours for the eC3. Out of the lot, four are monotone, and the remaining are dual-tone. As standard, the EV comes with a 3-year/1,25,000km warranty. But that can be extended further by paying extra. The battery and the electric motor are covered for 7 years/1,40,000km and 5 years/1,00,000km, respectively.

The Citroen eC3 is a rival to the Tata Tiago EV, priced between INR 8.69 lakh and INR 11.99 lakh. Those willing to spend a little more can consider the Tata Tigor EV. That starts at INR 12.49 lakh and goes up to INR 13.75 lakh.
