Hong Kong-headquartered Cathay Pacific has confirmed the name of its 12th European destination. Starting June 5, 2025, the airline will resume its direct flights to Rome until October 25, 2025. During this period, the Hong Kong-Rome route will be served thrice weekly on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The outbound flight – CX293 – will depart from Hong Kong at 00:45 and arrive in Italy’s capital at 07:50. Those travelling in the opposite direction will board Cathay Pacific’s flight CX292, which will start and conclude its journey at 11:45 and 05:20 the next day, respectively. A three-class Airbus A350-900 will ferry passengers on this route, featuring Business Class (with fully flat beds), Premium Economy and Economy sections.
The Rome route will become Cathay Pacific’s second nonstop connection to Italy, with five-per-week flights to Milan being the first. The airline will also increase the frequency on the Milan route to once daily this summer.
The Cathay Group aims to hit 100 global destinations in its network before 2025 ends. Besides the Rome route, the group has confirmed services to five other cities that will go live this year. The list includes Hyderabad (March), Dallas (April), Munich (June), Brussels (August) and HK Express’ service to Sendai (January).
