Carl F. Bucherer (CFB) – the Lucerne, Switzerland based prestigious watchmaker has chosen Dubai Watch Week (DWW) to launch two exquisite timepieces – the Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral ‘Green Paradise’ and Manero Minute Repeater in Titanium. Both are one-of-a-kind piece unique timepieces and created especially for DWW. Founded in 1888, Carl F. Bucherer has always stood for excellence, innovation, and passion. An internationally renowned global brand, with a global presence, they are ‘characterized by its founder’s pioneering spirit and the cosmopolitan spirit of its home city of Lucerne.’

Both these timepieces ‘are designed with Dubai’s ultra-modern, urban lifestyle in mind. Juxtaposing contemporary styling with traditional craftsmanship, and unmistakable boldness with nuanced subtleties, they also reflect the character of Dubai itself.’  In their own words, ‘the styling of the two new watches represents the epitome of CFB’s Manero product family, combining contemporary aesthetic and material choices that embody the essence of life in the world’s most vibrant cities. In this respect, and by featuring the Swiss watchmaker’s highest complications and expertise in Peripheral Technology, they expertly manifest the brand’s new maxim, ‘Exploring Time’ – a phrase which embodies both CFB’s 135-year heritage in watchmaking as well as its forward-looking, pioneering spirit.’

Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral ‘Green Paradise’

Design, Case and Movement:

The Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral ‘Green Paradise’ is a unique interpretation of a limited-edition timepiece in black released earlier in 2023. While it shares similarities with the earlier model, there are notable differences as well. These include:

‘A Sunray dial, finished in a deep, opulent green – deliberately chosen as a hue that resonates culturally throughout the Middle East – paired with a matching green, hand-stitched Louisiana alligator leather strap.’

– A bezel which contains 40 baguette-cut 3.9 carat, tsavorites, sapphires and rubies: each naturally occurring and naturally coloured. They are arranged in a rainbow pattern around the dial.

– On the dial, the 11-indexes are each baguette-cut (0.4 carat each) tsavorites, sapphires and rubies, that exactly match the corresponding stone on the bezel. The index at 1 o’clock and 11 o’clock is shorter in length due to the tourbillon cage at 12 o’ clock on the dial.

The wedge-design hour and minute hands are rhodium-plated. The case is crafted in 18K white gold. It has a case diameter of 43.10 mm, and a case thickness of 11.57 mm. The dial side has a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, and caseback with sapphire crystal and anti-reflective coating. Water resistance is 30 metres or 3 bar.

The timepiece comes with a hand-stitched, Louisiana alligator green leather strap with square scales, and a 18K white gold pin-lock folding clasp.

In-house automatic calibre CFB T3000 powers this timepiece. Its functions are hours, minutes, floating tourbillon at 12 o’clock on the dial, small seconds on the tourbillon cage, and a stop-seconds function. It comprises of 189 components, has 33 jewels and a power reserve of 65 hours. The calibre has a silicon escapement and is a COSC-Certified Chronometer. The calibre is visible through a sapphire caseback.

Calibre CFB T3000 illustrates two types of Peripheral Technology:

– First, the presence of a tourbillon at 12 o’clock on the dial, ‘providing supreme accuracy – its peripheral mounting lends it its renowned ‘floating’ appearance.’

– Second, ‘an automatic winding system, powered by a peripherally mounted oscillating ring, visible through the sapphire case back, which never obstructs the view of the 18-karat white gold movement bridge.’
