The 93rd edition of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans is fast approaching, with the world’s most iconic endurance race set to take place from 11–15 June at the historic Circuit de la Sarthe. Combining cutting-edge technology, world-class driving talent, and the drama of day-to-night racing, this year’s Le Mans promises another unforgettable chapter in motorsport history.
Among the 2025 Le Mans contenders is Cadillac Racing, representing the United States on the global stage with a powerful four-car line-up. Competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with the Cadillac V-Series.R Hypercar, the American marque currently sits fifth in the FIA Hypercar World Endurance Manufacturers’ Championship — determined to climb the ranks at Le Mans, a race that continues to test the limits of performance and endurance.

Cadillac and Mobil 1™ Team Up for New Le Mans Livery
In the build-up to this year’s Le Mans, Cadillac has unveiled a brand-new race livery for the No. 101 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R – featuring Mobil 1™ as the primary sponsor. The blue-and-white design showcases the iconic Mobil 1 logo on the front and sides of the hybrid Hypercar, highlighting a shared commitment to innovation and performance.
“Mobil 1 and Cadillac Racing are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of performance and innovation in motorsport,” said John Roth, Vice President, Global Cadillac. “We’re excited to welcome the Mobil 1 brand as the primary sponsor of the No. 101 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.”
This collaboration marks the latest milestone in the deepening relationship between Cadillac and Mobil 1, with the two brands working in technical alliance across both WEC and IMSA competition. Earlier this year, Mobil 1 confirmed the extension of its role as Official Motor Oil for Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, further solidifying its presence in top-tier endurance racing.
“Le Mans is the ultimate proving ground in motorsport, and we’re proud to support Cadillac’s ambitions through our continued technical partnership,” added Tony Esposito, Strategic Global Alliance Manager at Mobil 1. “This new livery reflects what our work with Cadillac is all about – performance, passion and pushing boundaries. We’re thrilled to see it come to life on track at Le Mans, where our legacy in motorsport continues.”
Four Cadillac Prototypes, One Ambition: Victory at Le Mans
Cadillac’s Le Mans effort includes four factory-entered Hypercars:
-
No. 12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series.R (Alex Lynn, Norman Nato, Will Stevens)
-
No. 38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series.R (Earl Bamber, Sebastien Bourdais, Jenson Button)
-
No. 101 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R (Ricky Taylor, Jordan Taylor, Filipe Albuquerque)
-
No. 311 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R (Jake Aitken, Felipe Drugovich, Frederik Vesti)
The No. 101 and No. 311 entries are full-season competitors in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) class, where they run as Nos. 10 and 31, respectively.
Cadillac’s return to Le Mans in recent years has been impressive. After securing a podium finish in 2023 – their first since a 21-year absence – the team qualified second and third in 2024 and will be aiming for overall victory this year.
A Testbed for Innovation
The Cadillac V-Series.R is powered by a bespoke 5.5-litre DOHC V8 engine and represents the brand’s first hybrid electrified race car. Co-developed by Cadillac Design, Cadillac Racing, and Dallara, the prototype features signature design elements found across Cadillac’s V-Series road car range, including vertical lighting and floating blades.
Endurance racing continues to be a critical testing ground for Cadillac and Mobil 1, enabling the transfer of knowledge and technology from track to road. The durability, performance, and efficiency demonstrated under extreme race conditions directly influence Cadillac’s production vehicles – bringing innovation, reliability, and power to customers around the world.
As the countdown to Le Mans continues, all eyes will be on Cadillac and its Mobil 1-liveried Hypercars as they aim to conquer the world’s most prestigious endurance race. With manufacturers from across the globe preparing to go head-to-head over 24 gruelling hours, fans can expect high drama, strategic brilliance and mechanical excellence on the storied Circuit de la Sarthe.
While Cadillac will be one of the standout names to watch, every team and driver taking the start will be chasing the same goal — to etch their name into the history books of endurance racing’s ultimate challenge. Stay tuned for the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans!
