Cadillac Introduces Updated CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing

Besides minute cosmetic tweaks inside-out, the sedans pack more features.

The best-selling Cadillac, the CT5, has been on sale since 2019. Time, then, for a mid-life refresh, isn’t it? Enter the 2025 versions of the sportiest derivatives of the sedan’s range – the CT5-V and the CT5-V Blackwing. Besides featuring minute cosmetic tweaks inside-out, the V-marked siblings pack more features.

On the outside, the duo get front fascia updates and a choice of three new metallic paints – Typhoon (Green), Rift (Gray) and Deep Space (Black). Even the headlamps have received some reprofiling, but nothing too dramatic. The only notable change at the back is the inclusion of quad-trapezoidal exhaust outlets. The sedans even perform a lighting choreography as you approach or walk away from them. Buyers of the Blackwing will also have the option to dial in extra sportiness with Carbon Fibre packages.

Indoors, the CT5-V and the CT5-V Blackwing feature a 33-inch diagonal LED colour touchscreen display. That’s like we’ve seen on a few other high-end Cadillac models, such as the Escalade and the Lyriq. In addition to more real estate, the new system ropes in Google features, like Maps and Assistant.

Those who like to keep a tab on their CT5’s performance can opt for additional features such as a Performance Data Recorder and a New Performance in-vehicle app with real-time display of power, torque and boost, G-force and tyre temperature. Other features include Super Cruise and Cadillac’s OnStar.

There’s no mechanical change to report. Hence, the CT5-V makes do with the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 that outputs 360hp/549Nm while a 10-speed automatic handles transmission duties. The Blackwing version ropes in a 6.2-litre supercharged V8, producing 668hp/893Nm. In addition to the same gearbox as the standard CT5-V, the Blackwing is also available with a 6-speed manual.

Cadillac will build the 2025 CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing at GM’s Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Michigan. The production starts in the summer.
