BYD launches the ATTO 3 EV in the Middle East for AED 149,900

The Atto 3 gets a cabin that borrows design inspiration from music instruments

Earlier this year, the Al-Futtaim Group announced the launch of a new all-electric division for the Middle East region, Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company, along with a partnership with the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles and power batteries, BYD. This marked the arrival of BYD into the UAE market, and now, the world’s largest EV maker from China has unveiled its first offering for the region – the Atto 3 crossover.

The BYD Atto 3 will be offered in a fully-loaded single trim, priced at AED 149,900. BYD’s urban crossover EV boasts a claimed range of 420kms and got voted the “Electric Family Car of the Year 2023” by VAB, the Flemish Automobile Club. It gets equipped with the all-new BYD e-Platform 3.0, designed exclusively for pure electric vehicles, and BYD’s Blade Battery housed within its wheelbase that’s claimed to be one of the world’s safest batteries.

The styling of the ATTO 3’s exteriors resembles a conventional crossover. However, the interior design is something that contrasts the simple exteriors. Elements such as the door bins and handles borrow design inspiration from a guitar. The dual-tone blue and grey dashboard features waves similar to ones seen on sound waves. The centre console is said to mimic a treadmill. A 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen gets embedded in the dashboard’s centre, which can be rotated to portrait or landscape mode. The ATTO 3 also gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity with a 6-way powered driver seat, a wireless charger, vegan-leather seats and Intelligent Voice Control.

The BYD ATTO 3 has a 201hp motor that accelerates from 0-100km/h in 7.3 seconds. It’s capable of DC 88kW charging capacity, which enables the EV to get charged from 30% to 80% in just 29 minutes.

Customers can now experience the BYD ATTO 3 first-hand at the first BYD showroom in the UAE, The Zone by Al-Futtaim, on the City Walk Boulevard of Dubai. Furthermore, Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company will launch a mobile showroom for BYD deployed across 14 high-footfall areas across the UAE.

Hasan Nergiz, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company, said, “We strive to give our customers the power of choice, which is why we have launched a full spectrum of innovative financing solutions available from day one, including Guaranteed Future Value Finance, leasing and subscription models, in addition to conventional auto loans. And each product has a fully digitised online user journey to ensure a seamless experience for our customers.” Financing options available start from AED 1,499 per month. The car can be booked online on the BYD UAE website.
