Brabus 1300 R Edition 23 revealed!

The super-naked comes in two variants and will be a limited run model

Love is in the air on Valentine’s Day and the love between Brabus and KTM is growing. Brabus (synonymous with making crazy mods of Mercedes-Benz cars) KTM have unveiled the 2023 edition of their super naked, the Brabus 1300 R. The Brabus 1300 R Edition 23 is based on the KTM 1290 Super Duke R Evo, but you can’t tell that from looking at the pictures of this Brabus, can you?

That’s because Brabus took the super slick and Ninja like (no pun intended) 1290 Super Duke R Evo, made it muscular like Arnold Schwarzenegger. With all its added mass though, it looks nothing short of a low flying stealth fighter jets, the one that will make you go weak on your knees. This powerful motorcycle looks as badass as it can be, waiting for the bad guy in the next Bond or Mission Impossible flicks to show off its shades.

Speaking of power, the Brabus is powered by the same 1301 cc V-Twin engine in the 1290 Super Duke R Evo that develops a whopping 177bhp and 140Nm of peak twist, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. Tipping the scales at 194kg dry, the bike has a top speed of 270kmph and takes just 3.2 seconds to get to 100kmph from a standstill. It is equipped with a suite of electronics like traction control, wheelie control, cornering and a supermoto ABS, spin adjuster to limit the power from the engine to keep it smooth while cornering aggressively and a motor slip regulation that works with the slipper clutch to keep things running smooth while shedding speed aggressively. The monstrous sound is piped out via a dual-pipe slip-on exhausts.

Other features include a TFT display, a TPMS, cruise control, auto cancelling turn indicators. The bike has 5 riding modes – Rain, street, sport, track and performance. The interesting modes here include the track and performance modes. The former allows customisation of throttle response and wheel slip levels. You can adjust the level of TC from the 9 modes and turn off the anti-wheelie control!

Performance mode allows you to adjust with the throttle response, wheel slip and anti-wheelie functions (can’t turn it off completely). These many modes mean the semi-active, electronically controlled WP suspension system has a wide range of adjustability from street to track and even an Auto mode that adjusts the suspension as per the rider inputs.

All this madness is available in two variants – Superblack and Stealth Gray, and each variant is limited to 145 units only.
