Bentley’s One Plus One: Mulliner Has Produced The First Batur Convertible

Bentley’s bespoke division Mulliner recently produced the brand’s very first Batur Convertible. This GT is among the most special cars Bentley has ever created, bringing together performance, artistry, and exclusivity like never before. Only 16 Batur Convertibles will be produced, and the first of the 16 is quite the spectacle. Oh, and it’s got the W12 under the hood!

Mulliner Coachbuilt: The Ultimate Customisation Program?

The Batur Convertible is the latest chapter in Mulliner’s prestigious Coachbuilt portfolio, following the Bacalar Barchetta and the Batur Coupe. Each Coachbuilt model is a testament to Bentley’s tradition of combining uncompromising performance with unmatched personalization. Clients work directly with Bentley’s in-house design team, using an advanced visualizer to explore infinite possibilities in colours, materials, and finishes.

Every detail, from the paintwork to the smallest interior accent, can be tailored to reflect the owner’s personality. In total, 16 units of the Batur Convertible will be produced, which already makes it exclusive. But it gets better — each one of the 16 will be custom-made according to the buyer’s tastes. This is bound to result in each one being a one-off creation.

Unique One plus One Design

The Batur Convertible perfectly imbibes Mulliner’s innovative ‘One plus One’ interior concept. While the concept of a one plus one or two plus two has been around for a few decades, it’s the first time that Bentley has adopted the concept. It visually and emotionally separates driver and passenger through contrasting yet complementary styles.

Its strong, flowing exterior lines give the car a sense of motion even at rest. The grille is made to each owner’s style. The long hood and rear fenders project a stance that shows power without being flashy, and the folding roof somehow manages to retain a sleek coupe look when closed.

The interior is a showcase of artisanal skill and sustainable luxury. Customers can choose from natural fibre composites, ethically sourced leathers, and even 3D-printed 18k gold details, ensuring every car is truly unique.

The ‘One plus One’ interior wraps the driver’s cockpit in deep Beluga black leather with Mandarin orange highlights, creating a focused, performance-driven space. The passenger side contrasts this with light Linen leather and Mandarin stitching, offering a serene, refined atmosphere. This dual-tone theme extends beyond the seats to luggage sets, key cases, seat belts, and embroidery, reinforcing the car’s striking split identity.

Performance: The W12’s Last Stand

Beneath the hand-crafted elegance lies the most powerful version of Bentley’s legendary 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine, delivering an incredible 740hp and 1,000Nm. The W12, Bentley’s iconic engine, makes its final production appearance with the Batur. This milestone marks both an engineering achievement and a heartfelt farewell. Paired with advanced chassis tech, adaptive air suspension, and all-wheel drive, the Batur Convertible delivers sharp handling without sacrificing comfort.

A Grand Tourer Like No Other

The Batur Convertible is more than just a piece of art. As Bentley’s most powerful convertible, it offers thrilling performance and long-distance comfort. If you’re gutsy enough, you drive it to a track day in utmost comfort and then clock lap times that put some supercars to shame.

Its dynamic debut was nothing short of spectacular. After captivating crowds at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Batur Convertible Car Zero captured gazes at the Monterey Car Week.
