Audi India Launches The Q3 Sportback

It’s available in a single fully-loaded variant, costing slightly over INR 1 lakh more than the range-topping Q3.

A week ago, Audi India started accepting bookings for the Q3 Sportback. Now, we have the pricing. As suspected, the crossover arrives in just one fully-loaded variant. It’s called Technology + S line and comes with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 51.43 lakh. Compared to the range-topping Q3 derivative – the Technology – the Q3 Sportback costs INR 1.04 lakh more. Considering that the latter brings a unique style to the segment and that it dons Audi’s S line package, the price difference is negligible.

Unsurprisingly, the Q3 Sportback borrows nearly everything from the Q3. Part of the list is the powertrain, which comprises a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system. With 190hp/320Nm on tap, the Q3 Sportback can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 7.3 seconds and clock 220kmph flat out.

Yes, the Q3 Sportback’s features list is almost the same as that of the Q3 Technology variant. It includes Audi Drive Select, Hill Start Assist, 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, and LED-powered headlamps and taillamps. Other features, such as 30-colour ambient lighting, powered front seats, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, two-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, wireless mobile charger and a digital instrument cluster, are part of the package as well.

Audi India offers the Q3 Sportback in five exterior colours – Turbo Blue, Glacier White, Chronos Grey, Mythos Black and Navarra Blue. In addition, the cabin has two colour scheme options – Okapi Brown and Pearl Beige. Also, the Q3 Sportback comes with a complimentary 5-year membership for roadside assistance. And, for a limited period, the crossover will come with a 2+3 years extended warranty cover.

Think of the Audi Q3 Sportback as a more stylish alternative to other similarly-priced models, such as the BMW X1, Volvo XC40 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA. Do you think Audi India’s latest offering will unsettle that space?
