Audi India Opens Bookings For Q3 Sportback

Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that offers 190hp.

India, here’s an exciting piece of news! Audi has just opened the bookings counter for the Q3 Sportback. The minimum token amount is set at INR 2 lakh, and that can be paid via Audi India’s official website or the ‘myAudi connect’ mobile application.

How is the Q3 Sportback different to the standard Q3, you ask? Well, the answer can be found if you compare the e-tron and the e-tron Sportback models, both of which are currently on sale in India. Or, another way of explaining the difference is that the standard Q3 takes a more upright SUV approach in design, while the Q3 Sportback is more on the coupe-SUV side. So, the latter will definitely take home the tiara home in terms of looks.

Okay, over to what we know about the India-spec Q3 Sportback. Rather unsurprisingly, it’ll share the mechanical bits and pieces, and a lot of other stuff, with the Q3. That means under the bonnet will be the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that offers 190hp/320Nm. Coupled with it will be a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that’ll harness the oomph and feed it to all four wheels via the Quattro all-wheel-drive system. At full blast, the Q3 Sportback can clock 220kmph, while the sprint from nothing to 100kmph takes 7.3 seconds.

Features? Boasting the S-line exterior package, the Audi Q3 Sportback will have 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof and LED lights (front and back). Indoors, it’ll pack stuff like 30-colour ambient lighting, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a 10-speaker 180-watt sound system, two-zone automatic climate control, wireless mobile charging and powered front seats. For safety and driver assistance, the Q3 Sportback will have Parking Aid Plus with a rear-view camera, powered and heated ORVMs, six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, auto-dimming IRVM and Hill Start Assist.

The Audi Q3 Sportback is available in five colours – Turbo Blue, Glacier White, Chronos Grey, Mythos Black and Navarra Blue. There are two colour schemes on offer for the cabin – Okapi Brown and Pearl Beige.

For Audi India, the Q3 Sportback will be its first launch in 2023. And it’ll be a unique offering from the German carmaker since there’s nothing in India that’ll compete directly with the upcoming model.
