Aprilia RS457 Launched in India

Finally, Aprilia has launched one of the most anticipated motorcycle in India.

After much anticipation Piaggio the parent company of Aprilia has finally graced the motorcycle fans with the Aprilia RS 457 at Indian Bike Week 2023 where motorcycle enthusiasts from across the nation come together to celebrate motorcycles and meet alike nutcases that share the same passion for these machines with two wheels – this event has been a great opportunity for the brands to showcase or outright launch their product in front of the crowd of enthusiasts.

Aprilia RS 457 had already been unveiled months earlier and was launched globally a few months ago where the details of the bike were already made public by the brand – but one key factor was kept under wraps –its price. And this is what will make or break the RS 457 in India – although everyone’s fingers were crossed, not many had high hopes regarding the potential pricing of the bike.

Aprilia RS 457 much to everyone’s surprise costs only 4,10,000 /- ex-showroom – which at a glance may seem a bit too far-fetched considering its rivals like Duke 390 and RC390 are nearly a lakh cheaper. But before you think I am comparing apples to oranges, well, you are right – I am and it’s not fair.

You see, unlike the KTM 390 twins- Aprilia RS457 as the name suggests comes with a 457cc parallel twin that is capable of churning out 47 hp and 43 nm of torque – the addition of another cylinder makes a whole lot of difference –which creates a value proposition that sets it apart from most of its competition.

One of the biggest aces that Aprilia has up its sleeve is its Design – Resembling its elder the RS660, RS 457 borrows the styling cues from Aprilia RS660 – enough to attract attention even when it’s at a standstill. let me know what you think about RS 457’s design!

But wait, that’s not just yet – Aprilia which weighs around 157kg – allows for an impressive power-to-weight ratio and some mind-boggling acceleration couple this with those killer looks, and Aprilia might have a winner in its hands that could turn out to be a huge hit.

Can Aprilia go up against already establish players in the field like the KTM 390 Twins or a much more traditionalist 650 twins from the Royal Enfield, now it’s not like Aprilia doesn’t have a direct competition in this segment – since a long time Kawasaki Ninja 300 has been hogging the twin cylinder super sports category as a sole representative-but it seems the competition is about to get fierce with the launch of the Aprilia RS 457 and the arrival of Yamaha R3 next year the stakes are about to get high and finally some life in this category that has been on life support for far too long now!

What do you think?
