All-new Lexus RZ Electric Vehicle Makes Global Debut

The new EV range features a Steer-by-Wire System and DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive. The top-spec RZ550e F SPORT does 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and base RZ 350e has a 575 km range

The all-new Lexus RZ, a dedicated battery EV (BEV) model, was launched in Brussels, Belgium. The release is planned to gradually rollout across various regions beginning in fall 2025. Since the launch of the RX 400h in 2005, Lexus has led luxury market electrification, combining driving performance with environmental responsibility. By 2024, electrified vehicles accounted for a record 52% of the lineup. Moving forward, LEXUS plans to expand BEV, HEV, and PHEV offerings to meet diverse customer needs and advance a carbon-neutral society.

The new Lexus RZ features a redesigned BEV system with increased motor output, longer range, and faster charging. It debuts the next-gen Steer-by-Wire System*3 for a new driving experience and enhanced DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive for smoother, more intuitive handling, refining “The Natural” driving concept. The RZ550e F SPORT model offers 300 kW output for a more powerful drive, while the new Interactive Manual Drive synchronizes acceleration, deceleration, and sound for a sportier feel. Exclusive exterior colours, aerodynamic wheels, and sporty interior touches enhance its dynamic appeal. With a versatile lineup, the RZ caters to both practical and performance-focused drivers.

Dimensions: 3 identical 4.8 mtr models; 18″ to 20″ wheels

The LEXUS RZ 550e F SPORT, RZ 500e, and RZ 350e share identical dimensions, with an overall length of 4,805 mm, width of 1,895 mm, height of 1,635 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.

The RZ 550e F SPORT weighs 2,135-2,180 kg, the RZ 500e weighs 2,100-2,155 kg, and the RZ 350e is the lightest at 1,995-2,050 kg. Both the RZ 500e and RZ 350e offer 18-inch or 20-inch tires, while the RZ 550e F SPORT comes exclusively with 20-inch tires.

Performance and Range: Fastest hits 100 km/h in 4.4 secs; Most frugal has a 575 km max. range

The RZ 350e leads in cruising range at approximately 575 km, followed by the RZ 500e at 500 km, and the RZ 550e F SPORT at 450 km. Electrical consumption is 144 Wh/km for the RZ 350e, 166 Wh/km for the RZ 500e, and 184 Wh/km for the RZ 550e F SPORT. All models feature a 76.96 kWh battery and support CCS2 rapid charging.

The RZ 550e F SPORT is the most powerful, delivering 300 kW (407.8 PS) with 167 kW (227 PS) motors on both the front and rear, achieving 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. The RZ 500e offers 280 kW (380.6 PS) with a 167 kW (227 PS) front motor and reaches 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. The RZ 350e produces 165 kW (224.3 PS) with a 167 kW (227 PS) front motor and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
