Popular Japanese athletic brand ASICS has unveiled the next generation of its top-tier performance running shoe, the ASICS SUPERBLAST 2. The new gen’ shoe, uses FF TURBO PLUS, a midsole previously reserved only for the ASICS’ flagship models which also happen to be the race day choice for many elite runners – the METASPEED SKY PARIS and METASPEED EDGE PARIS.
With the inclusion of FF TURBO PLUS foam, ASICS says runners can take advantage of super responsive cushioning, thereby conserving energy during long runs and save their legs for the next run. Compared to FF BLAST TURBO cushioning used for the previous model, FF TURBO PLUS cushioning is approximately 8% lighter and has an energy return of approximately +8.2% for a “supercharged” feel, making it approximately 6% softer. The midsole also features FF BLASTPLUS ECO cushioning made from approximately 24% bio-based material.
Helping SUPERBLAST 2 shoe push the envelope of performance is its ASICSGRIP advanced outsole, which is designed for off-road terrains that provides better traction and comfort throughout the run. Also, the engineered woven mesh upper, a one-piece, lightweight material will provide the breathability runners require.
The SUPERBLAST 2 shoe weigh approx. 250g (size US 9) and is available for purchase for AED 970.
