What Is the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Perla Nera?
The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Perla Nera is an individualised version of the new 33 Stradale, a limited-production model inspired by the 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. The manufacturer built the car through the Bottega Alfa Romeo customisation project, in which the owner chose the specifications in collaboration with the manufacturer.
The owner chose the title “Perla Nera,” meaning “Black Pearl,” and registered it. The vehicle is best known for its almost entirely black exterior and exposed matte carbon-fibre body.
The Perla Nera will be on display in the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese until October 18.
How does the car’s carbon-fibre body differ from the other 33 Stradale cars?
The Perla Nera is the only car in the batch of 33 with an entirely exposed body covered in matte carbon fibre. The carbon fibre was designed to follow the body’s contours and key design features.
The pattern is most visible on the bonnet, where the carbon-fibre pattern traces the design’s V-shape. The herringbone pattern appears on several exterior parts and continues to the roofline.
Carbon fibre was placed manually into the mould in a specific manner. The carbon fibre pattern resulted from a custom production process that included inspection and assembly phases.
The car’s exterior features black wheels and a minimal number of exterior badges. The Alfa Romeo badges are still there.
What changes were made to the interior?
The interior combines black Alcantara anwitharbon-fibre parts. Several interior parts were customised for the owner.
The seats were created after a series of fittings and consultations, based on the owner’s preferred dimensions and seat preferences. The traditional “cannelloni” design feature for Alfa Romeo seats has also been used on the car and repeated in the door panels and the sills.
The headrests use carbon-fibre inserts featuring the Perla Nera name. Other mentions of the name include the door panel, a separate plaque, and the storage compartment.
The rotary selector features the engraving of the owner’s initials. In addition, there is a set of black Alcantara luggage that includes the vehicle’s number
The interior also features Quadrifoglio and Autodelta logos.
What kind of engine and performance parameters does it have?
The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Perla Nera has a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine with more than 630 BHP. This engine is mated to the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox and the rear-wheel-drive system.
Alfa Romeo specifies a top speed of 333 kmph and 0-100 kmph acceleration in under three seconds.
It uses the H-frame aluminium chassis and the carbon-fibre monocoque. These design approaches minimise the vehicle’s weight and deliver its key characteristics.
How did Perla Nera come to be?
Perla Nera was developed through the initiative of Bottega Alfa Romeo, which operates within BOTTEGAFUORISERIE – a specialised branch of Stellantis that builds customised vehicles for Alfa Romeo and Maserati.
During development, the owner and Alfa Romeo Centro Stile collaborated throughout. The owner and the Alfa Romeo Centro Stile team decided on the placement of carbon-fibre parts, interior components, seat configuration, and other individual elements.
During development, the team chose the carbon-fibre layout to align with the car’s bodylines. The same principle was used for interior elements and personalised equipment.
Production of the 33 Stradale includes only 33 cars, with Perla Nera being one of those configurations.
Where and when can you see the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Perla Nera?
The special edition was revealed at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, Italy, where it will be exhibited until October 18. It is part of an exhibit featuring the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale and its personalisation programme.
This is the first car to be created by Bottega Alfa Romeo, which belongs to BOTTEGAFUORISERIE. The cost of this special Perla Nera car is not yet stated.
